DO THESE COVERAGES PERTAIN TO YOU?
Review the following list of options (non-exclusive) that your business may need.
Please contact our office for a policy "check-up."

- BUILDINGS: Owned buildings and leased buildings (if required by contract). Insurance valuation considerations: replacement cost (new for old), functional replacement costs, actual cash value (like kind and quality), agreed amount, blanket values, co-insurance. Have you remodeled lately or anticipate remodeling?
- AWNINGS FENCES AND ANTENNAS: Additional structures not always automatically included or considered. Are yours?
- ORDINANCE AND LAW: Demolition and increased construction costs due to new ordinance, city or county codes. How would this affect your ability to rebuild?
- BOILER & MACHINERY: Boiler explosions, mechanical breakdown, surges and electrical arcing. Do you have, or are you responsible, for your heating and cooling systems or other mechanical devices?
- BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY: Contents usual to business operations at insured premises. Do you have yours insured for replacement value?
- SPOILAGE: Do you have contents that would be affected (or spoil) during an interruption of power?
- OFF PREMISES POWER: At what point and how much would an off premises power outage affect your business operations?
- TENANTS’ IMPROVEMENTS & BETTERMENTS: Are you responsible for improvements you make to premises you rent or lease?
- BUSINESS INCOME OR LOSS OF USE AND EXTRA EXPENSE: Loss or interruption of income essential to business operations (co-insurance or monthly limit). How much would it take and how long to resume operations? Do you need to retain key employees or move to a new location?
- SPRINKLER LEAKAGE: For business in buildings with sprinkler systems. How much damage would occur due to sprinklers leaking?
- GLASS: Does your business need glass windows and/or doors covered by schedule? If you are a tenant, are you responsible for glass replacement?
- EARTHQUAKE: When is earth movement an earthquake or landslide? Are you concerned about contents or other structures?
- FLOOD: Do you have potential for flooding? Have you considered back-up of sewer and drains as flood coverage?
- CARE CUSTODY & CONTROL: When are you responsible for buildings and contents you rent, lease, borrow or control? Bailee (dry cleaners) and Installation (contractors) are examples.
- GENERAL LIABILITY: Premises (i.e. slip and fall), operations and product liability. This is a necessity for all businesses.
- FIRE LEGAL LIABILITY: How much property damage to others would your business be responsible for if you caused a fire?
- ADDITIONAL INSURED LIABILITY: Some contracts require liability extension to include lessors, vendors, contractors, and municipalities (as examples) be added and notified as having an interest in your policy liability.
- WASHINGTON STOP GAP LIABILITY: For business with operations in Washington or employees hired in Washington. This includes employers’ liability for the Washington risk not under a Washington workers’ compensation policy.
- EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS: For employers providing benefits to employees. What would happen if you forgot to include an eligible employee for benefits offered?
- PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY (Errors & Omissions): Areas of business providing a professional service or opinion such as beauticians, consultants, designers, e-technology, etc. What business operations do you have that might require this?
- DIRECTORS’ AND OFFICERS’ LIABILITY: Defense against claims for negligent acts, errors and omissoins alleged to have been committed by present or former directors and officers of a corporation
- BUSINESS AUTO: Owned, leased, hired (with or without physical damage), non-owned exposures, driver other car (DOC). Do you know when and how you should insure a vehicle under your business policy?
- E-COMMERCE: New field of concern for internet technology with web-sites including information and/or sales. Does this apply to you?
- UMBRELLA OR EXCESS LIABILITY: Increased limits over and above primary policy limit(s). How much coverage is enough in today’s sue-happy society?
- CRIME COVERAGE: Employee dishonesty, ERISA, fiduciary, money and securities.
- INLAND MARINE: Equipment (owned, leased or rented), installation, valuable papers, accounts receivable, computers (EDP), motor truck cargo, fine arts,
- SIGN: Do you have a sign attached and considered part of the building, free standing on a pole or placed on the sidewalk?
- CREDIT INSURANCE: Reimbursement for bad debt losses or protection against customer insolvency. Would having insurance for your accounts receivable increase your operating line of credit?
- WORKERS’ COMPENSATION: Do you have full or part-time employees who work in or travel out of state or country?
- EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES LIABILITY (EPLI): Sexual harassment, wrongful termination, disgruntled employees, etc. Employee handbook required for coverage. Businesses with one or more employees may be subject to lawsuits for any of the above reasons.
- BONDS: Contractor license, bid and performance, ERISA, employee dishonesty, fiduciary liability etc.
